	Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge ist weiter Hauptsponsor des Multivan Merida Biking Teams Hannover/Mallorca, 09.02.2012. Die erfolgreiche Kooperation zwischen Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge und den Mountainbike-Profis von Merida wird auch im Jahre 2012 fortgesetzt. Die sieben Elite Radfahrerinnen und Radfahrer vom Multivan Merida Biking Team sind auch künftig bei allen Rennen und PR-Terminen im In- und Ausland mit Fahrzeugen der Marke Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge unterwegs. Zur Verfügung stehen den Profis insgesamt 14 Fahrzeuge: acht Multivan und ein California Beach, zwei Transporter Kombi, zwei Crafter Kasten und ein Wohnmobil auf Basis des Crafter. Das Multivan Merida Biking Team nimmt an über 50 internationalen Mountainbike-Wettkämpfen (MTB) in den Kategorien Elite-Damen und Elite-Herren in der Olympischen Disziplin XCO Cross Country und über die Langdistanz MX Marathon teil. Die Rennen führen die Mannschaft unter anderem nach Österreich und in die Schweiz, nach Spanien, Italien und Großbritannien, aber auch nach Südafrika, in die USA und nach Kanada, sowie nach Skandinavien, Osteuropa, Taiwan. Bei allen wichtigen internationalen Wettkämpfen ist ein Teil der Autos in der Team-Area ausgestellt. Die Sportler werden außerdem während der Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, der weltweit größten Fachmesse für Fahrräder, ihre Nutzfahrzeuge ausstellen. Merida ist einer der weltweit größten Hersteller von Qualitätsfahrrädern und bekannt für die Entwicklung qualitativ hochwertiger und sehr leichter Aluminium- und Carbon -Rahmen. Das Multivan Merida Biking Team existiert seit 2004, davor war Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge bereits Co- Sponsor.
