If technical XC course or short Marathon distance – the formula for success is 2x10! Meanwhile, nearly all racers use a double chain ring to leave behind their competitors. Developed in cooperation with the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM pro riders, our NINETY-NINE of MY 2012 is a high-end race fully whose kinematics has been optimized systematically for 2x10. A (if required) completely lockable chassis characterizes this ultra-light and ultra-stiff bike as no-compromise racing rocket – with aggressive sprint performance and drivetrain neutrality plus sensitivity for maximum traction in open mode. This 2012 MERIDA premiere starts, respectively, with two carbon and aluminium versions.

NINETY-SIX

Triple is dead? Long live triple! Until the “changing of the guard” in form of our NINETY-NINE, the NINETY-SIX has been considered rightly as reference on World Cup routes. Also in 2012, there are good reasons to choose this extremely light-weight and stiff race fully as best option: Whenever a (marathon) course or fast tour requires a third chain ring, the long-time favourite of MULTIVAN MERIDA pro rider Ralph Naef is still unbeatable – thanks to adequately adapted kinematics. Racy, aggressive and equipped with a (if required) completely lockable chassis: As limited XT model, our NINETY-SIX remains a full-carbon rocket also in 2012 and saves power reserves due to its brilliant response characteristics. Rivals should beware!

ONE-TWENTY

Our second 2012 premiere wears a re-engineered aluminium dress: Geometry and kinematics of the 120 mm fully ONE-TWENTY have been revised completely. Thanks to even better utilization of suspension travel, this means another step towards the universal idea of a touring bike. This All Mountain Sport model is characterized by slightly flatter angles and a chassis that feels “bigger”. Simultaneously, the carbon version ONE-TWENTY Carbon (already introduced in 2011) still delights with its propulsion-orientated nature. Not only due to its outstanding frame weight of 2080 g (incl. shock!), this two-wheeler remains the bike of choice for technically demanding marathons or tours up to trips across the Alps.

The opulent suspension travel of 140 mm ensures big smiles during soulful trailsurfing trips and offers calming reserves for obstacle-rich descents or fast downhills. At the same time, the chassis of our All Mountain fully ONE-FORTY – available as ultra-light carbon or robust aluminium version – is shock-absorbing enough to master even drops in a safe way. Low total weight, drivetrain-neutral kinematics plus, depending on model, lowerable suspension forks enable also problem-free cycling on steep and longer ascents – ideal for all riders who want to absolve their trips across the Alps not only with great downhill power. Thanks to a rugged 12 mm quick release axle at the rear, our ultra-light ONE-FORTY Carbon enjoys this fun in equal manner.
