Merida 2011 Product Highlights: ONE-TWENTY CARBON

All new for 2011........... the benchmark for stiffness and weight in the 120mm FS category.

Much anticipated, this bike boasts a featherweight 1.860g* frame (just 160g more than our 100mm travel XC/Marathon NINETY-SIX model)! Simultaneously, we have upped the ante in terms of frame stiffness too, the One-Twenty features 20 % more stiffness than even the category leading Ninety-Six bike.

These awesome performance stats are achievable only by utilising all of our extensive design and engineering experience courtesy of the successful Ninety Six and 0.Nine projects.

Merida’s proprietary Double Chamber down tube, Structure Element construction (combining location optimised Monocoque, Internal lug and Tube-to-Tube technology dependant on peak loads) plus High-Modulus fibres fixed by a Nano-reinforced resin matrix, all work in unison to deliver the best possible trail bike performance out there.

Aluminium rear suspension hardware and Merida’s first ever full Carbon Rocker ensure that the stiffness and weight stays “on-message “, and a relaxed 69 degree head angle maximises downhill stability without compromising slow speed trail responsiveness, for the ultimate in balanced and taut suspension performance.

At this weight with the incredible stiffness present in the chassis this machine could even be raced at the gnarlier XC courses out there, with no perceptible disadvantage (Complete bike weights range from about 11 kg, down to 10 kg for the top of the line 5000D version).

Light enough to race XC and plush enough to swallow the gnarliest trails, the only FS bike to own

*18“ Frame size (frame w/o shock); total weight 2.1 kg with DT Swiss M210 shock
