James Cracknell injured in truck crash in Arizona

During his attempt to cross the USA in a record breaking time James Cracknell was hit by a truck in Arizona.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday James was hit by a truck from behind and fractured his scull in the accident. He was rushed to hospital where the medics described his condition as ‘moderate to severe’.

James is now recovering in a specialist clinic in Phoenix, Arizona where his condition is steadily improving. His wife Beverly and his family are with him. The latest word from his personal trainer Bernie Shroesbree is that he is ‘off the critical list’.

The planned ‘Great Divide’ race James was attending to take part in together with Ben Fogle will have to be put on hold.

We wish James a quick recovery and hope to see him back on his bike and taking up new challenges soon.
