Birzman Damselfly – Birzman’s latest iF (International Forum) Design Award Winning Tool
The small but beautifully formed Damselfly compact chain tool story continues as it has just been awarded with a prestigious iF Design Award. Birzman now have 6 design awards across their range of tools and this mould breaking approach to tool design. With innovation ingrained in their design teams DNA, and natures inspiration all around them at their bespoke design studio in the Birzman compound, expect more of the same from Birzman over the course of 2011.
Combining the award winning attributes of its full-size older brother, the Dragonfly, Birzman’s design and engineering team has once again used inspiration from their rural surroundings to create a more portable version of the stunning Dragonfly tool.
The Birzman Damselfly apes the silhouette of the outwardly fragile Damselfly poised on foliage and successfully delivers the graceful lines and comfortable ergonomics essential for effective function when repairing chain breakages out on the road/trail.
Constructed from 7075 aluminium alloy, the tool is compact and light at just 40g, is 8/9/10speed compatible and will easily stow in a rider’s jersey pocket or saddlebag.
For Dragonfly “style” performance and the beautiful aesthetics we have come to expect from Birzman tools, the Damselfly is both a logical and beautiful addition to the Pocketride series of tools and any cyclist’s tool arsenal.
