Merida, Birzman and Alpina supported TransWales to start this weekend

On the 13th August 2011 it is TransWales time again. For the 6th time the UK’s only stage mountain bike event will open its doors in Builth Wells to welcome riders from 16 nations to some of the best riding spots the UK has to offer. As in 2010 the GORE BIKE WEAR™ TransWales 2011 powered Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport is once more supported by Merida, Birzman and Alpina.

The TransWales event will cover a whopping distance of over 500km and riders will climb over 15,000metres allowing all competitors to test themselves fully and experience the best Wales has to offer. The event has a unique character of combining un-timed with timed section letting the riders enjoy the terrain and scenery before diving into the next ‘special stage’ where every second counts.

Once again GORE BIKE WEAR™ is sponsoring the Trans Wales 7 Day MTB Challenge supported by Merida Bikes (open male pairs category sponsor), Birzman tools (mixed pairs category sponsor) and Alpina helmets (vets pairs category sponsor).

More details including the stage plan on the TransWales website.
