Paul Hopkins to win the Brighton Big Dog.
Cross country specialist, current UK vets champion and long standing Merida UK rider Paul Hopkins had another great racing – this time at the Brighton Big Dog endurance event.
Here some words from the highly competitive winner of the pairs category: ‘Although I had won the race for the last two years with Richie Mardle, the favourites to take the honours were Jody Crawford (Specilized) and Jamie Newall.
I am happy to report Jon and I overhauled this pair to win by 7 minutes 15 seconds. Our consistent laps paid dividends when later on we managed to pull out a gap after we swopped the lead with Jody and Jamie for the first couple of laps. Team Mule Bar also had a very strong first lap, but tailed off after that and they finished 17 minutes down after 6hrs.’

After Paul’s great result at the Dorset Rough Rider MTB Enduro earlier this year followed by the success at the Big Dog we assume we will see more of him at he ever growing number of endurance events out there. Maybe at the Bristol Oktoberfest in Bristol on the 15-16th October?
