Day One - 400mile coast to coast
Tuesday 11th October and the 23 riders of the combined Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Blades started their epic coast to coast ride, in 4 days they will cover 400 miles from Haverford West to Lowestoft.
The ride was re-named in honour of Jon Egging, the Red Arrows pilot that lost his life after displaying at the Bournemouth airshow, and aims to raise money for charity – more details are available at www.400in4.co.uk.
Our big Merida truck is following, to offer mechanical support and probably just as importantly pedalling advice and encouragement.

Conditions have been good so far, and the riders are shown rolling into the halfway point by lunch time. There will be some very tired riders when they finish day 1 with over 100 miles covered!
One of our own has volunteered for a day of punishment – our General Manager will do the 101 mile leg of day 3 – his logic being that everybody else will be tired enough for him to keep up by then.
We wish them all the best and will keep you updated on their progress.
