Merida UK rider Paul Hopkins getting some ‘sunny’ training miles in

After a few hectic weeks of racing Merida UK rider Paul Hopkins, who can normally be found on board his Merida 99 carbon full suspension bike, took some time out to join GPM10 as one of their main guides at their camp in Mallorca.

Here his little report: “I have just returned home from a fantastic few days in Mallorca riding in the sun as a guide for leading cycle tour specialists GPM10. I have been privileged to be invited back every year since I first went as a client back in 2004. Since then I have been a big fan of GPM10 and of the unique cycle training camps this company offers.

Owner Mark Neep, is also a passionate cyclist and has managed to put together a selection of cycling holidays that is second to none. Since the company began in 2003 it has gone from strength to strength and now attracts the rich and famous, who have found cycling nirvana through GPM10.

This French Alp based company offers trips in the most beautiful, challenging and iconic places in the world. Experience what it feels like to train like a pro cyclist and have a fully kitted team car follow you through the mountains while you ride with a peloton of like minded individuals. Having the peace of mind that all you need is right with you, from an energy bar to a complete spare bike, means all you have to do is enjoy the ride. All the guides are top draw riders able to advise on set up and technique, and also able to push the limits of any client wishing to attack the route. Although this is a training camp with a very profession feel, the evenings are filled with great food, drink and banter from the day’s events making it the perfect training holiday.
