Brings you up to speed on any trail.
Even though they are justifiably called “the world’s biggest playground for mountain bikers”: you don’t have to have alpine terrain at your doorstep to experience maximum fun on your trail bike every day. Especially not if the bike can easily master all the challenges on the playground, from long uphills to fast downhills. Both the ONE-TWENTY aluminum model, which has gotten lighter this year, and the brand-new carbon model take this bike category to the next level.
Weighing just 900 g (in frame size M), the main frame of the new ONE-TWENTY carbon family will be the undisputed highlight of the 2016 MERIDA range of trail bikes. Since less weight can be saved on the rear triangle of the frame using carbon, and especially the chain stays are quite in the line of fire when descending, the new CF models of the ONE-TWENTY will be hitting the trails as hybrid solutions. One thing is true for all model versions: 130 mm front forks are optimally suited to the potent “120+” mm on the “Float Link” rear in order to give the bike precisely the playful and confidence-inspiring character it has to have as a modern full suspension. As is also the case for the new NINETY-SIX, two wheel dimensions can be found for the four available frame sizes; the “big” 29er versions ride somewhat more smoothly and the 27.5 inchers (650B) are a bit more playful on the singletrack. The new ONE-TWENTY also shares its innovative internal cable routing with the full-suspension NINETY-SIX racer, including the possibility of installing a dropper seat post also with internal routing.
