Utterly reliable

Manufactured according to ultimate quality standards and tested under toughest laboratory conditions: MERIDA represents reliability.

Your car requires a biennial check by the Technical Inspection Authority – and your bike? Our customers can be sure that all MERIDA bikes are manufactured according to ultimate quality standards whose observance is monitored by independent testing institutes. Because MERIDA is an international brand that benefits twice from its corporate structure: On the one hand, our R&D department in the Swabian town of Magstadt stands for the highest level of German development performance. And as soon as the European R&D experts have completed their task, the world’s leading bike-manufacturing nation takes the reins: Taiwan.

Since 1972, MERIDA is domiciled in Yuanlin, Taiwan. No other international location merges more bike-manufacturing know-how than the metropolitan area of Taichung/Taiwan. No matter if in-house manufacturing of elaborate aluminium frames or creation of complex carbon frames by premium production partners: All MERIDA bikes are crafted according to cutting-edge aspects and guarantee long-lasting reliability. This outstanding quality is confirmed not only by the superb test results of leading international bike magazines,

but also and especially by regular in-house tests in compliance with obligatory standards – and by the external test labs that examine all MERIDA products with greatest possible care.

Before MERIDA’s parent plant in Yuanlin starts the serial production of a new bike, first CNC-machined pre-production models have already been tested meticulously in the European headquarters. So test samples in all frame sizes are checked according to mandatory pan-European standards (EN 14764, 14765, 14766 or 14781; depending on model). This includes inspections of headset and BB stiffness as well as comfort control with respect to frame and fork whose lateral stabilities are recorded in virtue of the renowned “TOUR” standard – supplemented by the fatigue and overload tests of external testing partners like Velotech or EFBe. If and only if all those QA tests are passed within their respective limiting values while also meeting MERIDA’s extra safety margin, we consider a bike to be ready for serial production – and the latter begins in Taiwan.

In MERIDA’s own test lab, all engineer standards are checked for compliance.
