throughout the last couple of years, Jochen käß has evolved into a strong all- rounder by boosting his performance in long-distance racing. in 2010 he came close to winning the german national Championship races in both Cross Country and Marathon. the season 2011 did not run that smoothly however, with a fourth- place finish at the german national Cross Country Championships being the best result. nevertheless, käß is still in the top 10 of the uCi’s marathon world ranking, which is a proof of his consistency – and a consequence of finishing in fifth at the Marathon World Championships. käß showed another strong performance in south africa, when he finished in second overall at the prestigious Cape epic stage race together with Hannes genze. in 2012, Jochen käß is planning to compete in cross country, marathon and stage races alike. and he has got a firm intention to compete for one of the german tickets to the Olympic games in London as well.
