Ladies’ bikes with a big difference

Women are different – so is MERIDA! Our R & D specialists soon realized that ladies’ bikes have to be developed with the same great care as their equivalents for male riders. That’s why MERIDA offers a special series for female bike fun – on and off the road! As a matter of course, our female-oriented design language is also different. But besides visual features, these bikes primarily impress via their specific technological details.

ROAD JULIET – RELAXATION OR FULL THROTTLE ALONG ALL ROADS

Female road riders certainly will enjoy the fact that our lady road-bikes’ geometry is derived from the design of our comfortable RIDE family – not because of smaller female ambitions, but for several meaningful reasons: The longer wheel base provides greater running smoothness while the extended head tube also supports general bike stability. In addition, the shorter stem and the more upright seating position grant better overview towards all amazing experiences ahead. The narrower handlebar and the specific shifting/brake lever configuration also account for female demands: Smaller hands like components offering safe grip and therefore full brake/shifting control in every situation. As a matter of course, there are also shorter cranks with compact transmission (170 mm, 50/34 teeth) and lady-specific saddles with DUAL DENSITY technology.

For ladies loving true velocity on slim tires, the JULIET version of our high-end racing machine SCULTURA EVO represents an ideal solution: Thanks to its RACE series geometry, this bike always allows full throttle without compromise – also thanks to the ultra-stiff and lightweight carbon racing frame with its new Shimano 105 group. Of course, handlebar and saddle are still lady-specific.

JULIET MTB – MAXIMAL OFF-ROAD FUN

The MERIDA 2011 product portfolio also enables female MTB fans to enjoy trips over trails and logging roads as individually as possible: Our JULIET RECREATION hardtails delight with equally adapted geometries as well as with the option to choose between disc or caliper brakes. Their longer head tubes and stronger-sloping top tubes result in a more upright seating position relieving the pressure-sensitive pubic bone area. In addition, the lower BB position always allows problem-free and quick ground contact for female feet! Meanwhile, the three members of our JULIET PERFORMANCE family are distinctively different: JULIET SCANDIUM 3000-D and JULIET LITE are thoroughbred racing machines completely following the visual and technological tradition of our XC rocket O.NINE – let’s rock the trails!

Besides the hardtails, female trail hunters also find our top-of-the-line model ONE-TWENTY JULIET 1000-D – a genuine performance dual-suspension-bike with “queenly” design and luxurious components! As a matter of course, also all MERIDA ladies’ MTBs feature female-specific configurations including narrower handlebars and anatomically adapted saddles – actively supported by smoothly-running tires as well as suspension forks and shocks optimally adjustable in correspondence to lower body weights. The unobtrusively adapted visual appearance is also part of our philosophy – creating a genuine lady bike with all stunning and well-proven MERIDA highlights!
