Road Race

Fast, beautiful and even more comfortable

It came, performed – and struck like a bomb! Right from the start, the MERIDA REACTO (newly introduced in 2011) convinced its pilots as well as the bike press and demonstrated impressively our engineers’ brilliant capacity to combine a modern aero design with all genes of our long-time success SCULTURA.

Despite that success, our R&D experts left nothing undone with respect to further improvement of the ultra-light and ultra-stiff REACTO – also with success: There was certain potential left due to the fact that the rear of carbon aero frames is, by nature, slightly less comfortable than comparable models with classic design. Our REACTO’s damping and vibration characteristics could be improved perceptibly via the patent-pending and totally revised 2012 seat post. Because now, the latter has comfort qualities comparable with those of the best slim 27.2 mm versions. Simultaneously, the seat post still matches the aero frame’s design while being completely adjustable and free of any weight limitation. Thanks to approved technologies such as “Double Chamber” (for enhanced torsional and lateral stiffness) or the “Nano Matrix Carbon” composite of premium fibres, our REACTO remains a first-class high-tech racer in 2012, too. There was also further development concerning the integration of electronic shifting systems: Both REACTO and our carbon classic SCULTURA are now available as versions with a Di2 shifting group that has been upgraded on Ultegra level and involves perfectly integrated cables. Our SCULTURA and the aluminium racers enjoy another valuable upgrade: All 2012 models feature light-weight and highly shock-absorbing full-carbon forks with “Double Chamber” technology.

Road Ride

For never-ending cycling trips

One of the most wonderful road bike experiences is, for sure, the regular look at the speedometer’s display: The miles add continuously and tell the ever-growing story of a beautiful cycling day. But woe to all those who tackle such trips in the style of a Tour de France pro rider with a bike designed for highest speed, but without the typical training level of a world-class athlete. Because: Someone who wants to absolve long cycling distances on the road must be able to master them as well. Thanks to the long-distance concept of our ROAD RIDE series, the fulfilment of this wish is possible for many bike sport enthusiasts.
