Performance, precision and top-level technology unify MERIDA and the „royal league of motorsports“. This collective basis offers excellent preconditions for a successful cooperation. Therefore we take particular pleasure in supporting up-and-coming F1 pilot Jaime Alguersuari by our bikes since 2009.
Alguersuari occupies a cockpit of the Scuderia Toro Rosso. As youngest F1 debutant of all times, he took his first start at GP Hungary (Hungaroring) on July 26th 2009 while being just 19 years old. For additional fitness and reaction training by pedal power, the bike-loving Spaniard from Barcelona has chosen our models NINETY-SIX CARBON 3000D and SCULTURA 907 COM – ideal material for controlling top speed sovereignly and safely also in the saddle.
On the other hand, Jaime shares his zeal for velocity and bikes with MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM member Jose Antonio Hermida. Thus, our MTB pro from Puigcerdà (Catalonia) met his compatriot Alguersuari at the Competition Kart track of El Vendrell Village (Tarragona) for a reciprocal exchange of experiences.
This gave Jose an opportunity to celebrate his personal premiere in world of motorsports: Thanks to Jaime’s expert instructions, he enjoyed a different and breathtaking kind of adrenaline kick while piloting a competition kart. His enthusiastic comment:
|
“It has been a great day. The truth is that the sensations you can feel driving a competition kart are incredible. The acceleration and the speed while cornering are brutal.”
In turn, the two racing routiniers naturally accompanied each other also on two wheels. So Hermida was able to give Alguersuari some first-hand pro advices about optimization of bike handling in different challenging situations. Hermida about this:
“Jaime knows how to ride a bike. You can see that he is very talented for any sport that demands speed; but there are always details that can be improved.”
Our interdisciplinary racing-pilot meeting and its completely convincing photo session have demonstrated once again: MERIDA attaches great importance to collegial cooperation – enough reason for Spanish MTB magazine Solo Bici (04/2010; www.solobicimtb.com) to document this very special day by an own article.
