120 mm front and rear suspension travel: No other MTB category is more versatile due to its specific characteristics. 120 mm mean geometries allowing playful cycling on winding trails while tackling all ascents without the slightest problem – actually without travel-adjustable suspension forks representing additional systems the rider need to care about. 120 mm also mean a lot of reserves for challenging downhill runs, root-ridden trails and fast gravel roads. In MY 2010, the MERIDA ONE-TWENTY represented one of the first prime examples within the 120 mm category – a complete success! Nevertheless, Juergen Falke – MERIDA’s Head of Design – has put our “no-problem” bike onto the test bench again. Stunning 2011 result: Thanks to the already well-proven carbon technologies of our top-of-the-line models O.NINE and NINETY-SIX, the new ONE-TWENTY CARBON now also incorporates the racing genes of those totally speed-orientated premium machines!

The new high-end series’ heart is the carbon frame with a weight as low as 1840 g (at frame size 18“) – basing on the best available carbon fibres and the most modern manufacturing technologies of the current market. Therefore, this masterpiece is only 160 g heavier than our XC weapon NINETY-SIX! This is enabled by a special material mix of high-modulus, ultra-high modulus and intermediate fibres (HM/UHM/IM) providing amazing stiffness data as well as great weight reduction at less-stressed frame areas. Hard to believe: The maximum stiffness data of our 2011 ONE-TWENTY CARBON are outstanding 20 % (head tube) respectively 10 % (BB area) higher than those of our NINETY-SIX (measured by external test institutions according to “BIKE”-magazines standards). That’s why our ONE-TWENTY CARBON is not only a guarantee for powerful sprints on a genuine racing machine, but also a synonym for extreme steering precision during high-speed downhill runs! Especially at top speed, the pilot always feels extremely safe – thanks to our two-piece STRUCTURE ELEMENT MONOCOQUE with a reinforcement rib (DOUBLE CHAMBER TECHNOLOGY) integrated into the down tube.
