Update with disc brakes

Great! The UCI finally allows the utilization of CX bikes with up-to-date disc brakes – also for competition purposes. When the good news from French-speaking Switzerland reached the desks of MERIDA’s R&D experts at the end of 2010, an update of our then recently introduced CYCLO CROSS Carbon was planned at once. The objective was to develop a disc-brake version in addition to the – hitherto – solely “legal” CX model with cantilever brakes. A challenging task: It’s just not enough to equip fork and rear stay with disc brake receivers. Instead, the complete construction must be adapted to the typical single-direction braking forces that are caused by disc systems.
