“Fast, versatile – and on top of that, absolutely stunning”: MISSION impresses at bikeboard.at

MISSION 10K

In a recent review on bikeboard.at, our MISSION race gravel bike made a huge impression. The editorial team was particularly impressed by its versatility, which bridges the gap between a race gravel bike and a modern all-road road bike.

Fitted with 30 mm tyres, the MISSION 10K rides on tarmac 'like a high-end granfondo', offering 'an enormous gear range' while remaining 'astonishingly elegant'.

Chief tester Martin “NoPain” Ganglberger was so impressed by the bike that he asked himself: “Do you even need a separate road bike at all?”

With the MISSION, “the boundaries between bike categories become blurred”. Although it is officially a race gravel bike, it also performed well in the tarmac test. Thanks to its versatile range of uses, it is “significantly more than just a gravel bike”. In many situations, the riding feels even “strongly resembles that of a modern granfondo road bike”.

The stylish carbon frame boasts “high bottom bracket stiffness”, similar to that of a “high-end road bike”, as well as a precise rear triangle and “a front end offering plenty of steering precision”. On the road, this translates “directly into an incredible riding experience and efficiency”. Furthermore, the sporty MISSION has an “extremely sleek design” and feels “surprisingly explosive”.

The bike responds, “immediately to every pedal stroke”, “without feeling twitchy or frantic”. The bike accelerates superbly and maintains “speed effortlessly”. The editorial team also praised it as “probably […] the fastest gravel hybrid we’ve ever ridden” for its “smooth ride” and “superb handling”.

The frame’s proportions are particularly well-balanced. It remains “visually sleek and elegant, despite offering tyre clearance of up to 40 mm”. This makes it “so appealing to road cyclists”. The MISSION is “comfortable enough for long hours in the saddle, yet always ready to pick up the pace”.

“A quick wheel and tyre change is all it takes to significantly alter its intended use.”

This well-balanced package is complemented by a wide range of gearing options, including 2x road bike and 1x gravel setups, which make the MISSION so versatile.

Editor’s verdict: A bike for almost anything
“Anyone who’s ridden the MISSION for a few kilometres will quickly understand why race gravel bikes are currently experiencing such popularity. They combine the speed of a road bike with the versatility of a gravel bike – and it’s precisely this combination that works astonishingly well here.

The MISSION is perfect for fast gravel tours, gravel races and classic road cycling routes. Its stiff frame, road-bike-style geometry and wide gear range ensure you’re just as quick on tarmac as you are on fast gravel roads.

For NoPain, at least, the question of whether to choose a road bike hardly arises anymore. The MISSION is ideal for fast gravel tours, gravel races and road bike tours in equal measure.

Only when you’re heading into really rough terrain – or when you’ve got a lot of luggage – does a second bike still make sense. In that case, the SILES would be the most suitable addition. For everything else, there’s the MISSION.”
