Trail riding is only fun on a full suspension
bike right? You might have to rethink that!

Most of the time there are three main criteria in deciding to go for a MTB hardtail: as low as possible weight – critical when racing is your focus – low maintenance due to less moving parts or simply that similar spec hardtails are cheaper than comparable full suspension bikes. All these points may apply to our new BIG.TRAIL but they are not why our new toy made it into our 2017 line-up. Fun is the main reason! New 650b+ wheels with high volume tyres really shine when the trails become more demanding. Paired with a healthy 130mm of travel up front, a low and long geometry and an Enduro style slack head angle enables the BIG.TRAIL to surf through trails almost like a modern trail full suspension. Thanks to the short chain stays, the Boost-Standard wheels, dropper post and single ring drivetrain this modern aluminium hardtail is super playful. The BIG.TRAIL will be as focused as you when you next dive into your favourite trail! Simply Fun!

 


 

Dropper seatpost as standard

The internal cable routing is ready for stealth dropper seatposts and paired with a super low stand over height makes for a super playful trail bike.

Boost 148 rear hub

As a bike for gnarly terrain, our BIG.TRAIL also uses the new 148mm wide ‘Boost’ standard, which adds 6mm extra width to the rear hub. A flatter spoke angle increases stiffness, furthermore shorter chain stays become possible which improve the agility of the bike further.

1x drivetrain

Our new BIG.TRAIL is a pure play and fun bike, which neither looks for the steepest climbs nor high speed pedalling sections. Therefor ‘1x only’ is the correct choice of drivetrain – also when it comes to the ‘ride and forget’-ability of our BIG.TRAIL.

New tyre format B+

The new tyre format B+ (also 650B+) with its 2.8" wide 27.5" rubbers takes the traction of our new BIG.TRAIL to so far unknown dimensions. High air volume with low pressures makes surfing trails a fascinating experience – in particular on a hardtail.

Playful trail geometry

Due to the low stand over height and playful trail-geometry our BIG.TRAIL is a real hoot: The long reach of 425mm in size M and the super short 35mm stem, combined with the 73,5° steep seat angle and the ‘Enduro like’ slack head angle of 67,5°, deliver an impressive mixture of agility and high speed stability.

Smart entry

All internal cables and hoses are not just run inside the frame of our BIG.TRAIL but they are also clamped to prevent rattling, thanks for our clever ‘Smart Entry’ technology. Cables and hoses are clamped when entering and exciting the frame, yet thanks to the ‘Down Tube Exit’ the internal cables can be easily reached for maintenance and exchange.

130mm front travel

With 130mm of front travel, our BIG.TRAIL is as rough-stuff capable and confidence-inspiring as a hardtail can get.
