The Sonny Colbrelli story - meet the man behind the bike

The 2021 race season saw the return of pro cycling to most of its iconic venues and races, giving the riders and teams a real chance to test their strength, tactics and determinations once again. One of the most outstanding Team Bahrain-Victorious riders of the last 12 months has been Sonny Colbrelli. Known for his highly tuned sprinting abilities, Sonny can look back at his most successful season. Besides securing the team’s first World Tour victory of the season at the Tour de Romandie, he managed to add the Italian and European championships, and various stage wins to his tally before winning one of the most famous road races the calendar – Paris-Roubaix.

We (with the help of our Italian correspondent Elena Martinello) took up the opportunity to spend some time with Sonny to not just talk about his fantastic season but also to look at what got him into the sport, what keeps him going, how important coffee is in his life and how he managed to win the world’s most famous cobblestone race on an aero bike.
