Singletrackworld says that the Big Trail 400 has “nailed the essentials”

UK-based title Singletrackworld has given the Big Trail 400 a very positive review, saying that “Not only has the Merida Big Trail 400 nailed the essentials, it’s actually got a few features that you just don’t expect to see on bikes at this price”.

As one of the best-value options in the Big Trail lineup, the 400 offers many of the features of the more costly bikes but at a very keen price. Some features that were highlighted in the review include our own-brand dropper post, plus the excellent tyre clearance on offer from the aluminium frame.

The reviewer also commented that “Merida is making some of the most interesting and well-sorted mountain bikes (including e-bikes) of the moment in my opinion” before saying that the Big Trail in particular was “a freaking fun little bike”.

With the Big Trail being the starting point for our new progressive geometry approach, we were also pleased to see that the handling of the bike was also signled out for praise, with the teser saying “The head angle was confidence inspiring. So too was the low slung BB” and that “the bike as a whole is a great platform for upgrading”.
