RECYCLING

ELECTRIC BIKE SAFETY

We’re classed as a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) so we have responsibilities under the EU WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Compliance Scheme.
We work with Beyondly, who are registered with the UK government, to ensure we remain fully compliant with UK legislation.

Our WEEE registration number is WEE/MM4694AA.

BATTERIES

Our electric bikes are supplied with lithium-ion batteries from reputable suppliers.

We’re registered as a member of a government approved batteries compliance scheme. We partner with Beyondly to guarantee we’re fully compliant with the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009. Our registration number is BPRN12874.

Used batteries must be treated as hazardous waste; they’re labelled appropriately. Your local council can provide details of local recycling facilities.

In case of uncertainty, please contact your local Merida dealer.

RECYCLING PACKAGING MATERIALS

We strive to make our packaging as sustainable and efficient as possible. We minimise the use of paper, cardboard and plastic, offering 100% recycling potential.
In accordance with PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, EU 2025/40) we provide full transparency on all packaging materials used to protect our bikes and guidance on separating and recycling them.

Please help us protect the environment by following these guidelines.
