Trail riding has evolved a long way in a short space of time, but the new ONE-FORTY 8000 represents a radical shift in what such a bike can be expected to do. The new, lightweight, all-carbon frame has hyper-modern trail geometry to deliver out-of-this-world climbing performance with utterly planted downhill capability thanks to our new sizing system that pairs riders perfectly with the handling they want. Full 29er wheels and Fox Performance suspension plus SRAM GX wireless drivetrain offer flawless performance to match.

The new ONE-FORTY is the ultimate trail bike, made for the toughest trails in the world. It’s the pinnacle of modern trail riding, with a super-steep 80° seat angle, low front end and bottom bracket allow it to clear the most technical climbs, while longer reach figures across all sizes and a well-balanced 65° head angle mean it’s still more than capable of ripping any descent. With our new sizing system, riders can run a longer or shorter reach frame independently of their height, with suspension that becomes more progressive as you size up to better cope with heavier/harder riders. We’ve focussed on weight reduction and rolling speed too, for improved efficiency. All bikes come with long travel dropper posts, WIRE PORT cable routing, a reliable threaded bottom bracket and on-board tool storage plus carbon frames have FidLock magnetic bottle cages.

X-TAPER HEADTUBE

Lo mejor de dos mundos. Una forma cónica con un mayor diámetro en la parte inferior y un menor diámetro en la parte superior para poder ahorrar peso. Las pipas de dirección cómica siempre van asociadas a horquillas también cónicas o a adaptadores que hacen compatibles los tubos rectos. El resultado es una mayor rigidez y una mayor precisión en la dirección, incluso en las condiciones más extremas. Y todo sin tener que añadir peso adicional al cuadro.

INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING

En los últimos años el guiado interno de los cables se ha convertido en una tendencia que todas las marcas hemos adoptado. Cada vez más cuadros MERIDA montan todo el cableado interno, manteniendo el aspecto de la bicicleta muy limpio, a la vez que se conservan con mayor durabilidad todas las fundas, evitando que se ensucien o se rompan por el contacto con piedras o raíces.

NANO MATRIX CARBON

Los cuadros de carbono normalmente tienen que soportar fuertes impactos y mucho estrés. Para proteger la integridad de los cuadros de carbono en MERIDA utilizamos las tecnologías más avanzadas. Las fibras de carbono se unen usando resina epoxi junto con nano partículas. Estas nano partículas pueden incrementar la resistencia del carbono en un 40%. Todas nuestras bicicletas de alta gama cuentan con la tecnología NANO MATRIX CARBON.

La fibra de carbono ofrece muchísimas más posibilidades a la hora de la fabricación y la construcción que otros materiales, como por ejemplo el aluminio. Por lo general la mera superficie ya fascina a todo el que la contempla, pero ¿qué ocurre en el interior? En MERIDA usamos unos moldes de EPS internos para reducir las arrugas que se generan en el proceso de fabricación. El resultado es un cuadro más rígido, más duradero y más ligero.

NON-SLIP TIGHTENING

Con esta tecnología, todos los tornillos de la bici se aprietan usando una llave Torx 30 desde un sólo lado. No requiere sujetar el tornillo opuesto con otra llave. Dando una forma oval a uno de los tornillos evitamos que rote sobre si mismo al apretar o aflojar los tornillos. Una solución muy sencilla que facilita las tareas de mantenimiento que hagamos sobre nuestra bici.

P-FLEX

A suspension design where the traditional pivot point on the seat stay is eliminated in favour of a flexstay design. This uses the compliance of the material and specific shaping of the tubes to allow for the seat and chain stays to move apart as the suspension moves through the travel. By removing this pivot point at the seat and chain stay junction, we save weight, reduce maintenance needs and add stiffness to the frame structure.

WIRE PORT

MERIDA designed headsets that enable all control cables from the handlebar to enter the frame through the headset cover, creating a clean and uncluttered look, allowing for a lighter, stronger and more aerodynamic frame structure than with conventional cable ports. Depending on the model, the cables are run completely internally (including the bar and stem) or semi-integrated, where the cables enter the frame underneath the stem.

FAST KINEMATIC

Rear suspension kinematic that uses a flexstay design to minimise weight and maintenance needs. Each frame size has a specific progression rate, with longer reach models having increased progression to better suit harder and/or heavier riders. An adjustable flip chip can be used to run full 29er or mixed-size wheels while preserving the geometry for consistent handling. Flexstay-Adjustable-Size-Tuned kinematic: FAST, because it is.

LONG FENDER

Mounting points for an optional extra-long fender to boost protection over the standard short fender. The full-length fender reduces the amount of dirt and water spray from the rear wheel, keeping the rider cleaner and drier and also extending the life of bearings and cables. The bolt-on mounting points mean the fender is fixed rigidly, so there is less noise, and the paint finish of the bike is not damaged.

MSP MERIDA SERVICE POUCH

An easy-to-remove cover underneath the bottom bracket used on specific carbon fibre frames provides easy access to all hoses and cables that run through the down tube towards the rear of the bike. The large port makes it much easier to maintain or replace brake hoses and derailleur cables, speeding up service procedures. The port can also be used to store tools and essential small parts in the downtube of the bike, when used in conjunction with our ESSENTIAL TOOL WRAP.
