Top test for the SILEX 10K in Gran Fondo

SILEX 10K

German cycling magazine Gran Fondo spent a lot of time testing our new SILEX 10K and has now published its findings. To jump straight to the point, the feedback was impressive, and the test team called it “an excellent all-rounder for those who don’t want to commit, or simply ride on a wide variety of terrain”.

Over the course of the test, it was not just the top-of-the-range spec package, including the SRAM RED eTap AXS Mullet groupset with XO1 rear derailleur, RockShox dropper and Reynolds Blacklabel G700 carbon wheels that impressed the testers, but the new sportier aesthetics and improved fun factor.

Its "agile and playful handling" coupled with a "perfectly balanced, sporty yet comfortable" riding position, its efficiency in converting pedal strokes into forward motion, and its surprisingly compliant handling helped the SILEX 10K score high with the test crew.

In addition, the addition of multiple attachment points and other well-designed features make the SILEX 10K "one of the best all-rounders", able to perform when taken to the gravel races, on demanding bike packing trips, and even as “a loyal companion that will also tackle everyday adventures on the way to work”.

Their final verdict:
“The MERIDA SILEX 10K is an excellent all-rounder for those who don’t want to commit or simply ride on a wide variety of terrain. Its features allow the bike to cope with any situation and eventuality, which is what sets it apart. Furthermore, the riding performance delivers what the look promises, with the Taiwanese jack-of-all-trades catering to everything from gravel races to epic, multi-day gravel adventures. It’s simply an excellent all-rounder, both for fast and long rides.”

Key points the test team loved about the SILEX 10K:

  • Hard to beat in terms of fun
  • Sleek look
  • Enough mounting points for all eventualities
  • Top-of-the-line components
