How much have eMTBs changed in four years? 2021 eONE-SIXTY 10K vs 2017 eONE-SIXTY 900E

Just how different is the very latest generation of ebike compared to one from four years ago? To find out, we've compared the very latest 2021 MERIDA eONE-SIXTY 10K to the original eONE-SIXTY, the 2017 900E.

In this video, we cover the changes that the platform has undergone as it's evolved. Some changes have been large, like the switch in wheel size from 27 Plus to a mixed 29/27.5" wheel setup, a move to an internally mounted high capacity battery rather than an external one, the option of a lightweight carbon fibre front triangle on the new bike and the addition of a more powerful but smaller and lighter Shimano EP8 drive unit. Some of the details are smaller, however, such as the greatly improved WIRE PORT cable and sensor integration, the ability to use a water bottle cage, plus numerous other refinements like the THERMO GATE battery cooling vent and satellite control buttons.
