Top marks from Bikeradar for the SCULTURA 9000

After crowning the SCULTURA TEAM as their 2022 Bike of the Year in the performance bike category, the test team at Bikeradar were keen to see if the Ultegra Di2 equipped 9000 could also live up to the credentials of the bigger brother.

From the get-go, the SCULTURA 9000 left a positive impression on the specification side of things by featuring a sleek and “aero efficient” one-piece cockpit, “vibration-smoothing” seatpost, impeccably performing Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset including some of the “best hydraulic disc brakes in the business” and Reynolds Aero 46 carbon wheels.

Diving more into the geometry and handling aspects of the 9000, the crew pointed out the “firm” and race-ready frame stiffness and how well it deals with road buzz and vibrations.

Here is their final verdict:
“So often on bikes, the first way to cut costs is to skimp on tyres. With Merida fitting one of the best road bike tyres available on the Scultura 9000, it has created a bike that hits every mark out of the box.

I can’t think of one part I’d look to change, or even add, because Merida also includes both an out-front GPS mount and a pair of carbon bottle cages as standard.

It’s an exceptionally fast, light, sharp-handling aero road bike that builds on the Scultura’s heritage and reaches another level of excellence.” 4.5 out of 5 stars
