MBR pick the BIG.NINE and ONE-SIXTY FR in 'hottest new bikes' of 2024 roundup

Mountain Bike Rider has rounded up their pick of the hottest new bikes for 2024 and not just one but two MERIDA models have been selected for their list.

Both the new BIG.NINE cross-country and downcountry hardtail range and the hard-hitting ONE-SIXTY FR lineups have been chosen as some of the most exciting machines for the year ahead.

When it comes to the BIG.NINE, they said that while the range covers cross-country racing versions, "it’s the down-to-earth TR models that really float our boat", praising the low standover height, dropper posts and progressive geometry on offer from our 120 mm travel forked models.

The ONE-SIXTY FR lineup was also praised as a "bike that promises huge capability without the huge cost", with a "bias to durability and heavy-hitting suspension performance over pedal efficiency and weight saving" making it ideal for bike park riding.
