After nine successful years, MERIDA and Team Bahrain Victorious parting ways
After nine successful years competing at the highest level in the WorldTour, the partnership between MERIDA and Team Bahrain Victorious comes to an end for both parties to consolidate and develop new WorldTour sponsorship strategies.
MERIDA has been with the Bahrain WorldTour Cycling Team Project since its foundation in 2017, first as the main co-title team sponsor alongside the Kingdom of Bahrain forming Team Bahrain MERIDA and later as the technical partner to Team Bahrain McLaren and Team Bahrain Victorious. This marks nine incredible years on the WorldTour stage.
With a long list of achievements, including several Monument wins, Grand Tour stage victories and GC podiums, the Bahrain WorldTour Cycling Team Project and MERIDA can be proud of what we have accomplished. Other high points include Sonny Colbrelli’s Paris-Roubaix victory and UCI Road European Championship, while Matej Mohorič’s Milan-San Remo descending ‘tour de force’, and UCI Gravel World Championship title have also made the history books.
However, even the most successful stories have their ending, and from the end of the 2025 season, the partnership between MERIDA and Team Bahrain Victorious will draw to a close.
Everybody at MERIDA is grateful to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the opportunity to be part of this exciting project and is immensely proud of the many successes the team has achieved. Over the years, this close partnership between MERIDA and the Bahrain WorldTour Cycling Team Project has been the foundation for the team’s accomplishments.
MERIDA will use the ending of the partnership with the Bahrain WorldTour Cycling Team Project to consolidate and continue working on exciting new WorldTour racing projects going forward.
MERIDA would like to express their gratitude to the Bahrain WorldTour Cycling Team Project for this incredible opportunity and wishes them all the best for the upcoming season.
Further details regarding MERIDA's WorldTour plans will follow in due course.
