SCULTURA 5000 scored a ‘VERY GOOD’ from Velomotion

Our entry-level, carbon-framed SCULTURA 5000 was reviewed by the German website Velomotion and was awarded an excellent 'sehr gut' (very good) rating.

Despite being the second lowest in the SCULTURA range, the SCULTURA 5000 packs a punch, coming equipped with our lightweight CF3 frame, Shimano’s 105 Di2 groupset and a pair of Vision Team 35 wheels.

Going into the test, the Velomotion team were impressed by the SCULTURA's specifications, including the “precise function” of the 105 groupset and how the bike presents itself “as a well-balanced all-rounder with a comfortably sporty riding position and agile steering geometry”.

During the test period, the lightweight frame impressed with its “high stiffness and direct power transfer”, as well as its efficiency. Meanwhile, the 27.2 mm seatpost helped to ensure a comfortable and controlled ride. Further fuelling the bike's efficiency was the electronic 105 groupset, which performed solidly throughout the test.

Their final conclusion:
"Merida positions the Scultura between the extremely aerodynamic Reacto and the more relaxed Scultura Endurance, offering a visually understated yet very sporty racing machine with a comparatively lightweight frame. Even the most affordable version impresses with its lively acceleration and excellent handling. Beyond that, the functionality of the components and parts is impeccable. Those willing to spend more than €3.000 are of course also welcome at Merida – two further versions with Shimano 105 Di2 entice with carbon wheelsets, and above that, the options include Ultegra or Dura-Ace and lighter frames.”
