Highlights

Lightweight 6066 triple butted and hydroformed aluminium frame with upright gravel geometry for stable but nimble handling. Featuring internal cable routing and BB86 bottom bracket.

In line with the design ethos of versatility and go anywhere, the SILEX is available with a wide range of luggage and accessory options including frame bags and big saddle bags. The frame features fender mounts on the rear triangle as well as on the fork, transferring the SILEX quickly and easily into a fast training bike for the winter or a versatile commuting and touring bike.

The majority of SILEX models are fitted with 1x drivetrains for simplicity, resulting in weight reduction and fewer moving parts. A 1x can deliver 98 % of the gear range of a 50-34 compact chainset with an 11-32 road set up.

Featuring 12 mm bolt through axles for maximum frame stiffness, making wheel alignment much easier when refitting. The flat mount rear brake is mounted on the chainstay for better dissipation of braking forces and protecting it from damage in the rear triangle. Disc cooler technology draws heat away through CNC-milled cooling fins, particularly important when you are fully loaded.

As standard, the SILEX comes with 700x35C tyres but can accommodate up to 700x42C (road profile). It's even possible to use 650B wheels and go up to 50 mm wide road profile tyres on the carbon and up to 42 mm on the aluminium bikes.

To put the SILEX on the perfect tyre, we have collaborated with Maxxis to create the ideal 35c semi-slick tyre with side knobs for our all road bike. The tyre, which featuring Maxxis Silkworm technology and puncture protection, can be inflated to high pressure for fast road riding, or slightly deflated to benefit from the added traction provided by the side knobs on rougher surfaces.

Lightweight carbon or sophisticated aluminium frame options. Key differences, other than construction materials, are that the carbon frame has a lower weight and is equipped with an integrated seat-post clamp to minimise turbulence at the top tube.

Technologies

IMAGE

PROLITE 66 TRIPLE BUTTED ALUMINUM

Our proven high-end aluminium (6066) is extremely light and durable. Using triple butted wall thicknesses and hydroforming technology, we can tune the aluminium tubes to give the best possible stiffness to weight ratio.

IMAGE

HFS - HYDRO FORMING SYSTEM

Tubes are inserted into negative moulds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced through at pressure, enabling them to be formed into complex shapes.

IMAGE

X-TAPER HEADTUBE

Using a tapered head tube with 1 1/8" bearings in the top and 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the bottom creates superb stiffness and precise, confidence inspiring steering.

IMAGE

SMOOTH WELDING

Sometimes called ‘double pass welding’, a second pass over the weld gives a clean organic look to the frame. At first glance, you will be convinced it is carbon.

IMAGE

INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING

Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

IMAGE

SMART ENTRY

Cables, housings and brake hoses are clamped under tension to prevent rattling when the trails or roads get rough. All inlets are completely interchangeable to deal with Di2, hydraulic hoses, brake cable and gear cable housings etc.

IMAGE

F-MOUNT

‘F-Mount’ equipped bikes have integrated fittings for mud guards (some bikes require model specific mud guards), making fitting fast and simple.

IMAGE

C-MOUNT

‘C-Mount’ equipped bikes have the fixing points for a rear rack already integrated (some bikes require model specific rear rack), making fitting fast, simple and reliable.

IMAGE

CARBON FORK

Carbon forks provide superb vibration damping and precise steering. All road bikes feature a full carbon fork; the steerer and fork blades are all made of carbon.

IMAGE

12-142 THRU-AXLE

A 142 mm wide 12 mm rear axle fixed directly into the frame increases rear end stiffness whilst simplifying wheel removal and replacement.

IMAGE

12-100 THRU-AXLE

Selected front forks use a 100 mm wide through axle 12 mm in diameter to increase lateral stiffness.

IMAGE

DISC COOLER

A forged aluminium component under the front and/or rear caliper allowing heat to dissipate through CNC-milled cooling fins. Tests show that temperatures are reduced by around 35 % and cooling times are shortened, optimising the performance of the brake.
