BikeBoard to check out the REACTO ONE
“The Reacto ONE put the biggest smile on my face during a long descent”, so one of the key quotes from the latest BikeBoard review of our new REACTO V.
When testing the unique REACTO ONE, which set an aero record of just 196 watts in an independent TOUR Magazine wind tunnel test, the test team were hugely impressed by the bike's descending skills, praising the “combination of a stiff frame, the riding position, the DT Swiss wheels and the cockpit that allowed me to trust the Reacto ONE completely from the very first corner.”
Equipped with the Classified rear hub, which allows full 2x gear coverage with just a 1x chainring setup, the REACTO ONE impressed throughout the test with fast acceleration, nimble handling and huge efficiency.
Their final verdict:
“The enormous development effort — incidentally made in Germany — has paid off. Where earlier aero race bikes still had weaknesses in certain areas, I can so far see none with the Merida Reacto V. Any drop in performance on the test ride was due only to the rider. The Reacto felt at home on every terrain — above all, it was able to shine on descents.”
