CATEGORY HIGHLIGHTS

Ability to fit two water bottles into the frame without making the bottles difficult to reach. Perfect for long marathon races and extended trail sessions.

In line with today's more demanding and aggressive XC course as well as the rising interest in light yet capable short-travel bikes of the 'down country' segment, we have slackened the head angle by 1.5°(trail version even 3°), increased the reach, lowered the bottom bracket and standover height and steepened the seat angle by 1.5 – 2°.

To save weight and further improve the frame stiffness, we have removed the seat-/chainstay pivot point. Instead of a classic bearing, the material properties of the frame allow sufficient flex without having an impact on durability.

All control cables like gear, brake and dropper post cable enter the frame through a specifically shaped headset cap, cleaning up the cockpit area while also keeping them out of harm's way. Only the internally routed cable for the rear shock lockout enters the frame directly into the top tube for extra smooth lockout action.

An additional fixing point behind the head tube offers the option to attach a spare tube, tool or small spare parts safely and securely.

Selected bolts can be tightened via a TORX 30 key from just one side, without running the risk that the opposite side slips or turns, allowing faster and more straightforward tightening of important hardware components.

X-TAPER HEADTUBE

Our X-Tapered headtube offers the space for a tapered fork to be fitted. Tapered forks offer superb stiffness and precise and deliver confidence-inspiring steering.

Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth sockets. The bike looks neat, whilst the cables are protected from moisture and dirt.

NANO MATRIX CARBON

To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with added nano particles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.

When creating the individual carbon elements, an inflatable bladder is used to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as these can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame.

P-FLEX

The compliance of the material and the specific shaping of the tubes, allows the frame to flex near the seat and chainstay junction, making a pivot point obsolete. By not fitting a pivot point at the seat and chainstay junction, we save weight as well as add stiffness.

WIRE PORT

MERIDA designed headsets that allow all control cables to enter the frame through the headset, creating a clean and uncluttered look, without making structural changes to the frame. Depending on the model, the cables are run completely internally (including bar and stem) or semi-integrated where the cables enter the frame underneath the stem.
